ABSTRACT
Within the recording process, our ability to judge and adjust sound is primarily based on what’s heard through the monitor speakers in a project studio or control room environment (Figure 17.1). In fact, within the audio and video industries, the word monitor refers to a device that acts as a subjective pro fessional standard or reference by which program material can be critically evaluated.
