ABSTRACT

Over the years, digital audio technology has grown to play a strong role in MIDI production. This merging factor is largely due to the fact that MIDI is a digital medium and as such can easily be interfaced with devices that output or control digital audio. Devices such as samplers, digital audio workstations, hard disk recorders, and digital audio recorders (of the DAT, MINI Disc, and modular digital multitrack varieties) are commonly used to record, reproduce, and transfer sound within such an environment.
