ABSTRACT

Projection technology is probably the longest established of any of the fields of film and video. A 1930s projectionist time-warped into a presentday theatre would recognize the equipment and would be able to operate it almost straight away with very little assistance. Indeed, they might find absolutely no difficulty at all because the projector actually dates from the 1930s, although it will almost certainly have been modified to take account of the occasional development in projection technology since then.
