ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we’re going to take a closer look at the process of mixing in Logic, looking both at the technology it has to offer to create an effective mix, and how we can knit these elements together as part of the mixing workflow. This is also an opportunity to get to know many of Logic’s essential signal processing plug-ins in a more informed way, as well as taking a more detailed look at how the Mixer area works – aspects that can actually improve the entirety of your workflow in Logic, as much as the mix. Looking more closely at the pro cess of mixing itself, we’ll explore how to use compression and equalization to create separation, as well a bus processing (on aux channels), and of course, spatial treatments like reverb and delay that help define the depth and dimension of your mix.
