ABSTRACT
Dynamic microphones are usually quite robust and designed for live use and close miking (close miking means placing the microphones close to the sound source). This makes them suitable for miking loud sound sources such as drums and guitar amplifiers. The Shure SM58 is a classic example of a good dynamic microphone.
