ABSTRACT

In this work the nature of the Egyptian State and society has been explored and the dynamic interactive relationship between them analysed. In this chapter using the analysis of state-society relationship examined in this book, a model, which rejects previous scholarly interpretations about state and society in Egypt, is presented. Since the Hegelian concept of state shaping society is a major hypothesis of the proposed model, the nature of the Egyptian State will be the starting point of reiteration.
