ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at the interwar period from a quantitative perspective. The purpose of the inquiry is to identify recurrent patterns and processes that characterize the decades between World War I and World War II. Utilizing the same basic analytical structure and model presented in Chapter 6, we now ask, what can now be said about the underlying trends, the overall dynamics, the processes obscured by day-to-day stresses, tensions, and pressures for decision?
