ABSTRACT

The relationship between geography and politics varies from country to country throughout the Middle East as each location and, to a lesser degree, each political system is unique. To these differences and the possibilities of tension engendered by them, must be added a number of issues which affect more than one country and are, in most cases, obviously transboundary. These transnational problems include security, political, economic and social concerns. They are all either transnational or possess the potential toward transnational dimensions but they vary considerably in importance.
