ABSTRACT
Scanning The quality of your scans will make a huge difference in the final quality of your digital cels. The threshold, darkness, or contrast settings can either leave your lines with gaps if they are set too light, or blend your lines together into a large dark mess if they are set too dark. Experiment with your scanner to make sure the settings are as good as you can get them, and mark down and save your settings. Even different pencil leads and animation paper can make a difference in your scans (Figure 30-1).
