ABSTRACT

The act of viewing movies has traditionally been passive, and, in fact, many media players allow viewers only a passive experience. QuickTime, on the other hand, provides a number of capabilities that allow the user to interact with a movie. Some of the most notable interactive features and functions of QuickTime include:

Slide shows Text tracks Flash tracks Media skins Wired sprites

One of the simplest projects to build with QuickTime is the slide show. This is a great way to present still images, a dynamic storyboard, or simply create a presentation. Before you dismiss the slide show as a boring series of dull images trotted out at family reunions, remember that one of the most influential and seminal science fiction movies, La Jetee, was, in fact, nothing more sophisticated than a slide show photographed and presented as a film.
