Once your motion picture is in the form of a QuickTime movie, you will need to optimize it, via compression. We will delve into the intricacies of compression in Chapter 9, but before you can move into this phase of deployment, you must decide which avenues you wish to use for distributing your film, be it the World Wide Web, CD-ROM, or DVD. Motion picture/video files are probably the biggest files that computers deal with regularly, and the primary vehicles for disseminating digital video information are the computer hard disk, the CD-ROM, and the Internet (Table 8.1).
