ABSTRACT
What is Interactive Television (iTV)? iTV is a combination of traditional TV watching with the interactivity of the Internet on a personal computer. Interactive TV covers a variety of technologies – cable and satellite set-top boxes, game consoles, electronic programme guides, personal video recorders, “walled garden” formats where content is enclosed within a controlled environment, video-on-demand, enhanced TV programmes as well as the capability to browse the Internet on a television.
