ABSTRACT

The role of light has long fascinated many architects, arguablynone more than Le Corbusier, who was a master at using natural light to help define spaces and routes within his buildings. Doubtlessly he would be fascinated by today’s computer-based visualization techniques, and the way in which light’s role in a building can be accurately portrayed at any time of any day. Not only can the design be evaluated in terms of how the lighting interacts with its forms and spaces, but also analysis of different scenarios can present the architect with extremely accurate lighting data.
