239 ANIMATING A CHARACTER’S face is one of the most interesting and enjoyable parts of the animation process. We can convey much with the body poses, but this is the really good stuff, the detail that literally breathes life into our characters. The drama and emotion that the face contains really make us look inside ourselves and seek to understand and identify with a character. If animating the body makes us entertainers, then animating the face makes us actors.
