ABSTRACT
Writing and illustrating a book about special effects animation turned out to be a far greater undertaking than I had ever anticipated. Now, in retrospect, I can only see how much ground I did not manage to cover, although I was, to the best of my knowledge, as thorough as I could possibly be. What has now come to light for me is that this topic, this fantastic and utterly unique art form, is truly one of the most vast and varied disciplines in the animation world as we know it.
