ABSTRACT

Character animation IT IS TIME to get down and dirty. In previous chapters we looked at how to achieve a wide variety of design styles, transformations and motion effects. But the concept of how to bring all these techniques together to create a successfully animated character can remain a mystery. When is it advantageous to nest certain animations and why? How can swapping symbols be effective? What exactly does the Sync feature do? What is the most effective way to synchronize a character’s mouth and lips to a voice-over soundtrack?
