ABSTRACT

My thanks to Dan for inadvertently helping me put over a point. The point is that there is a need, of course, to improve our ability to draw anatomy (especially hands and faces), drapery, textures, etc., but what is done with that skill is what the gesture class is all about. Dan has an approach to drawing that is worth analyzing. He manages to overcome the tendency to get involved in surface details, and goes straight to the essence of the gesture.
