TEHUTMESIIIerectedthistempleinhonourofthe TriadofThebesandincommemorationofhismany victories.ItstandstotheeastoftheGreatTemple(H); betweenthetwowasanopenspacewheretheshrineof theMiddleKingdomoncestood(pl.XVII,2).Theshrine wasprobablyinruins,andTehutmesclearedawaythe ancientbuildingandmadeanopencourtwithsurrounding chapels,erectinghisFestivalHallasthelargestofthe chapels.
