THEtemplestandsinthefieldstothenorth-eastof Karnak;itwaserectedunderthePtolemies,aboutthe thirdcenturyB.c.,onthesiteofatemplewhichhad itsoriginintheMiddleKingdom,andwasrebuiltand addedtointheNewKingdom.Oftheoldertemples thereremainafewblocksandthreepapyrus-pillars
with~budcapitals,andofthePtolemaictemplethereare onlytwopillarswithcharacteristicPtolemaiccapitals, besidesfoundationsandthelowercoursesofsomewalls.
