ABSTRACT
This image was created for the cover of a children’s book. The idea was born from our very own history, where, on a planet populated by pigs, a war breaks out and a pig must flee with her piglets to a safer country. Of course, it was a very attractive project on a creative level. I began with pencil sketches, firstly to obtain a clear design for the piggies and thus help in the modeling phase (Fig.01). I did many tests before arriving at the final result. Perhaps the most problematic thing was choosing the design of the eyes. I liked both versions and I decided that the mother pig would have different eyes to the piggies’. Once I had decided on the story the first thing was to do was to choose the type of illustration. At the outset it was going to be a colored illustration by hand, but eventually I decided to do it in 3D to enable the possibility of creating new scenes with the 3D pigs. The final result was something that I was very happy with (Fig.02)
