ABSTRACT

The Moon Girl was part of a bigger project: a children’s book. It was a little story inserted between two longer ones. The idea behind the three stories concerned French expressions used out of context. For the Moon Girl the idea was based upon the expression “être dans la lune” (to be in the moon). In France, we use this term to describe people who are daydreamers, or who have their head in the clouds. You can tell when they are very alert, as it seems you have to wake them up when you want to talk to them.
