ABSTRACT

Hyperreal characters are seen in virtually every science fiction and fantasy film that comes out. In order for the character to come across as realistic, there must be some logic to its anatomy. Be it a monkey-bear or human with shark teeth, by designing the character with sound anatomy, one can make his/her hyperreal character believable. The legs are usually easy to detail because the landmark bony protrusions and muscles all flow in the same direction. Detailing the arms can be tricky because the muscles flow in different directions. The elbow and where the radius and ulna bones form the wrist are the main bony landmark masses of the arms. With the major muscle masses and bone landmarks defined, all that remains is to finish shaping the mesh.
