Synopsis This chapter will cover the basic fundamental principles of how to work successfully in After Effects. Topics will include; basic compositing; composition and project settings; understanding the After Effects interface; adding footage to your compositions; editing footage in the Timeline; working with the five transform properties; importing files as compositions; basic animation; methods for navigating through time; working with Keyframe Assistants; replacing footage in the Timeline; applying effects to your layers; rendering your finished work as movies; and archiving your projects.
