ABSTRACT
The topic of convergence has sparked many a debate within the world of interactive technology. For years, industry professionals have awaited the coming of convergence as eagerly as the people in ancient days awaited the Messiah. More recently, however, a backlash has grown against it, with a number of people dismissing convergence as an empty buzzword that has lost all useful meaning, having no more substance than a Halloween ghost. Still others contend that convergence is already here, right in our midst, an overlooked but significant reality, and assert that ever more exciting forms of convergence are on the way.
