ABSTRACT
The video game is the first form of computer-based fun ever devised, making it the granddaddy of all digital interactive entertainment. The arcade version of Pong, the oldest of all commercial games, debuted in 1972, almost two decades before the introduction of the World Wide Web and long before the development of wireless games, DVDs, virtual reality, and other forms of interactive entertainment.
