ABSTRACT

In truth, the most likely answer is ‘‘none of the above.’’ Though all four of these iTV scenarios have been produced and broadcast, and though they indicate the great range of iTV programming that is available, most viewers are not aware of them and would have trouble seeing them even if they wanted to. As we discussed in Chapters 2 and 3, iTV is an area that has progressed in fits and starts, and has suffered highly publicized setbacks. The forward strides it has made in recent years have been less thoroughly brought to the public’s attention, and as a result, most viewers are under the impression that iTV is a dream of the future, not something available in the here and now.
