TheministerAl-Qashtalistartedhispoembypraisingthe ProphetMuhammad,4andendedbycongratulatingAhmadAl-Man~ur Adh-Dhahabi. 5TheArabic,TurkishandPersiansourcesremained silentononeofthemostimportantbattlesthatoccuredintheGulf areaandthatiscomparabletotheBattleofWadi-1-Makhazin.This terriblebattlewasfoughtinBahrainagainstthePortugueseon Sha'ban989A.H./thesummerof1581A.O.,threeyearsaftertheBattle ofWadiAl-Makhazin.Theresultofthebattle,whichtookplaceinthe midstofthepalmtreessurroundingAl-Qal'a,wasthedeathofthe PortugueseleaderDomAlvaroDaSilveira,whowasaccompaniedby manyknightsandnoblemen.Thelattertriedtocarryhisbodyback toAl-Qal'a,buttheArabsattackedanyonewhoapproacheditand theresultwasdozensofdeadandwounded.Thisbattleremindsus oftheBattleofWadi-1-Makhazin,whereDomSebastiananddozensof Portuguesecommanderswerekilledandhundredswerecaptured. Further,certainArableaderssupportedthePortugueseinthisbattle inBahrain,ascertainMoroccanleadershaddoneintheBattleof Wadi-1-Makhazin.JustastheobjectiveofthebattleinMoroccowas toconquerthecapitaltheirfinalobjectiveinBahrainwastoconquer MeccaasarevengefortheMuslimdominationofJerusalem.6
