ABSTRACT

The right to compensation in both cases derives either from the Lands Clauses ConsolidationAct 1845, or-in the majority of cases nowadays —from the corresponding provisions of the Compulsory Purchase Act 1965. The relevant sections are 63 and 68 of the 1845 Act (for (i) and (ii) respectively) and 7 and 10 of the 1965 Act (similarly).
