ABSTRACT

Despite the demise of his experiment in Ghana, Nkrumah as leader, thinker and activist continues to inspire a new generation of Africans. Nkrumah continues to influence political discourse not just in Ghana but throughout Africa and the black diaspora. There are many reasons why Nkrumah's ideas still retain such influence over contemporary political discussions. But without any doubt it is Nkrumah's contribution to the development and popularisation of Pan-Africanism that explains his present-day relevance.
