ABSTRACT
This chapter does not deal with a distinct Turkic people whose
past history, present habitat, numbers and social organization
could be described with any degree of precision. The 'Outside
Turks'--refugees of Turkic or presumed Turkish origin and their
descendants--settled inside the borders of the Republic of
Turkey, are dispersed allover its territory and have been to a
large extent absorbed into a homogenized modern Turkish nation.
