ABSTRACT

PROJECT APPROACH OVERVIEW O ne of the major goals of early childhood nature education is to help children make deeper sense of their experiences of their natural environments. Most young children readily engage with natural phenomena around them such as animals, plants, and the weather. As John Dewey (1996) suggested long ago, adults play a key role in supporting and guiding children’s interests. We can help children begin a life-long interest in nature and the disposition to appreciate and understand important natural phenomena in their daily experiences and environments.
