ABSTRACT
In 1978, the semi-conductor war between the US and Japan became fierce. In the 1980s, there were sudden responses of alarm in the US regarding Japanese science and technology. Behind it all was the fear psychosis of the American industrial world which came about in the wake of an increasing share of Japanese cars in the American market, the result of which has been labelled trade conflict and technology conflict.
