ABSTRACT
We’re not automatons, we don’t come in and all of a sudden we are a different person at 9 o’clock and you don’t stop doing that until 5 o’clock. It’s important to have a little bit of fun at work…. You have to loosen up a bit. You know, you can be professional, you can start a meeting with a minute of saying ‘how are you today’, ‘how was your journey into work’, ‘isn’t it cold outside’ and all of that sort of stuff and then quite easily bring it back by saying ‘okay, this meeting is about’, and then start talking about the meeting. It’s not a wasted minute having had that informal chat, it just establishes the flow of discussion between the two of you or the group.
