ABSTRACT
The C-Group shows a number of cultural characteristics in common with the A-Group as well as occupying the same territory, although their very distinctive black pottery with incised, and often white-filled, decoration is quite different from any earlier ceramics and will be a recurrent pottery type in the Sudan for a long period, occurring again in Meroitic times as late as the first few centuries AD.
