ABSTRACT
The American debate over health care rages on. President Obama is trying to reform a cumbersome and expensive health care system that leaves some people out. But his critics argue that he is trying to legislate ‘socialized medicine,’ which, for many Americans, has a scary sound to it. Few believe that government inside the Washington, D.C. beltway can e ciently solve the local problems of Americans.
