Introduction

Presented at this point in the Sourcebook are several responses to the Laboratory Theatre’s 1969 presentations in New York. These responses are not reviews, although Walter Kerr was the senior reviewer for the New York Times and Harold Clurman, a director of great authority, and a former member of the Group Theatre, also wrote reviews. These selections are reactions by a cross-section of thinkers to the productions of the Laboratory Theatre. They also include questions directed toward Grotowski.
