The sausages (probably the meaty spicy boerewors) are also cooked with tangytasting tomatoes so that, as the singer says later, 'y°u won't want [need] to clean your teeth'. Altogether, this is a Boer-type meal, similar to those meals with which travellers like George Thompson were received in all but the poorest Boer farms throughout the Cape of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
