ABSTRACT
Baskets and troughs filled with dried foodstuffs are kept on the shelf. Bunches of herbs and fragrant spice leaves hang from the beams, and small square packets containing crystalline salt wrapped in leaves are laid on the beams. Long thick bamboo tubes which lean against the wall are used as water receptacles, and rice wine is kept in earthen jars. Pounded rice is stored in a basket.
