ABSTRACT
Education within industry is such a vast subject that, even for a small country like the Netherlands with its short industrial history, it is impos-sible to give it anything like exhaustive treatment in a few thousand words. For that reason I propose to confine myself to a number of aspects which, I feel, make the development in the Netherlands different from that in other countries, or play a fundamental part as background to recent de-velopment.
