ABSTRACT
Zambia is one of the fortunate countries of Africa whose soil contains great wealth; Zambia's whole economy is built on copper: copper mining accounts for half of gross domestic product, two-thirds of government revenue, and over nine-tenths of exports. When, as recently, the world price of copper is high, Zambia's prospects and economic potential are excellent.
