ABSTRACT

This approach to storytelling was designed for children, young people and adults who are unlikely to be able to appreciate regular stories because of their profound intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD), and it requires the stories to be in a particular physical format. The pages are A3 laminated cards with sensory objects and materials attached, for the listener to handle, hear, smell, look at and feel as the story unfolds. It is known as the multisensory storytelling technique (MSST).
