ABSTRACT

Poetic tributes to Herbert had become a well-established tradition by the time the spasmodically capable poet Daniel wrote his in 1648 (first published in 1959). The characteristic of this poem is, clearly, its galloping enthusiasm. See also above, pp. 6–7.
