Extracts from the ‘Account of the Life and Writings of the Author’ in Malone’s Critical and Miscellaneous Prose Works of John Dryden, now first Collected (1800). Edmond Malone (1741–1812) was an Irish antiquary and Shakespearean scholar. For his general service to the study of Dryden, see J. M.
