ABSTRACT
This is the genuine wisdom ofwhich this age is so barren, the wisdom of the man who has lived and suffered, and then given himself time to think, and thought slowly, trusting rather to the spirit than to the intelligence. It is the wisdom on which our age, in its fever to acquire knowledge and again knowledge, is losing its hold. Yet it is by wisdom rather than by knowledge that the human race advances.
