This is not the place to offer any appreciation ofhis success, nor can I pretend to undertake such a task. It is not the place, nor is it yet the time, to make any record ofhis career:-ofhis sorrows, his sufferings, his dreams, and his hopes. I will add only that I think these pages contain his best and most original work.
