ABSTRACT

It would be rash to assert that Mutimer and other supporters of the Fiery Cross or the Tocsin are less sincere or more likely to be spoilt by good fortune than the Socialist agitator as we actually know him in public life. If Demos suggests a practical moral, it is that the modern Socialist is insincere. But on the general problem we get but negative results, leading us nowhere, and sadly bidding us despair of the future of the human race.
