ABSTRACT

September 1993, in the garden outside the White House, Bill Clinton presided at an extraordinary signing ceremony marking a peace agreement negotiated earlier by Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin of Israel and Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat. President Clinton was deeply involved in efforts to bring a peaceful conclusion to the conflict in the Middle East, right up to the end of his second term in office and the Camp David meetings he organized with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
