ABSTRACT
These oft-quoted lines from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner have a
ring of truth when considering some of the climate changes predicted
for this century. Rising sea levels will create problems for low-lying
coastal communities but do nothing for areas that could see extended
drought. Although precipitation will increase in some areas, it is likely
to come in more intense bursts with consequent flooding.
