ABSTRACT
This survey, which makes no claim to completeness(since literature is inexhaustible, and in any case thisis no academic treatise), has at least touched, however briefly, on most recorded aspects of the subject of which I am aware, and, for lack of both time and space, I propose now to draw it to a close in the hope that it may nevertheless have added something to our knowledge of a small corner of archetypal research.
