When the freezing is completed, if the ice is to remain in the same freezer for serving, remove the cork from the tub, withdraw the water, and repack with ice and salt, but using rather less salt than at first. Sprinkle a little salt over the top of the ice to form a casing, and keep the whole covered with a damp cloth-until required to be used.
